Growing up abroad, I had a completely different drugstore experience than the one here in America. Sure, there are shelves of makeup and hair-care products just like in the U.S., but in Antwerp skin care is the main event. Unfortunately these staple European brands are a bit harder to find states -and that makes them a hot commodity. You'll even find the whole of Reddit threads. Now that I live in New York City, my mom sends me boxes of my favorite products from her local pharmacy in Antwerp, iU Multipharma. But last summer when I ran out of my Avène Cicalfate Repair Cream, which is a product I used to help prevent scarring from my periodic bouts of skin picking, it became a personal mission of mine to find these products in the US I quickly discovered that Amazon sells a lot of the European products. I grew up loving.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water, $ 15

Micellar water is one of the biggest trends in makeup removers, and there are several brands in the US that have micellar products. But Bioderma is the OG of micellar water, and it's been a favorite of professional makeup artists. Lily Talakoub, M.D., of McLean Dermatology and Skincare Center, previously told SELF why she recommends the product to her clients. “Micellar water doesn't rinse away the natural oils on your skin like some cleansers, so it keeps your face from getting super dry.” I use micellar water twice a day to clean my face, even if I’m not wearing any makeup (though derms advise that you also use cleanser, at least at night—read on).

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse, $ 34

This multipurpose oil can be applied to your hair , skin, and face. I find it irritable my sensitive skin less than other products-and it smells so good, almost like a fancy perfume. Topicrem, $ 25

This is one of the few body moisturizers I liked as a teenager. It's rich and milky without being greasy. I find that when I put it on in the morning, my skin stays hydrated all day long. It's perfect for people with KP (like me) who want to keep their skin from drying out after exfoliating.

Klorane Dry Shampoo, $ 30

I I have been raving about the skin care, but there is one of the most important drugs in the world. This is the hottest shampoos on the market. It does not make your hair sticky or leave any weird residue (i.e. white or pasty), and it smells good. I read a reddit post from the girl who she wrote that she had never had her hair in five days, she's never had a better hair for a week.
